YOGA RETREAT IN SRI LANKA
November 23 to 29
Rooted in practice, Held by Nature - Ashtanga Yoga Retreat in Sri Lanka
Join me for a transformative yoga retreat in the heart of Ahangama, on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka.
Nestled on a small inland island surrounded by protected mangrove forests and rich native flora and fauna, the retreat space lies just 1.7 km from the Indian Ocean. This vibrant region is known for its beautiful surf beaches, local artisans, and relaxed café culture.
We’ll immerse ourselves in deep yoga and meditation practices, time in nature, beach activities, and soulful connection.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of southern Sri Lanka, surrounded by river, palms, and birdsong, this retreat is a space to return to yourself, through daily practice, rest, and time in nature.
Each morning begins with Mysore-style Ashtanga yoga beside the river, followed by nourishing meals, time to swim, read, or simply be. In the afternoons, we’ll offer workshops, restorative practices, or excursions to explore the coastline and local culture, or you’re welcome to just rest.
Nirbana is a small, peaceful sanctuary with beautifully designed rooms, a long pool, and plenty of places to hide away with a book or a cup of tea. The food is fresh, local, and prepared with care. The river is just a few steps away, and the ocean is close by.
This retreat is open to all levels of Ashtanga practitioners. Whether you're new to the method or have been practicing for years, you're welcome here.
Come as you are.
